EDIN 603 A computer literacy course, designed to meet needs of students with little, if any, exposure to computer technology. Students with previous exposure will find the course valuable as it includes uses of computing as a teaching/training and learning tool. Students will be introduced to use of microcomputers and specific applications such as word processing, database management/spreadsheet analysis as these applications relate to a school or industry setting, and will develop working knowledge of hardware and software operation.
EDIN 611 Survey of Instructional Technology provides a broad overview of technology. Beginning with investigation of learning theories, the course progresses to a survey of popular instructional technologies and practices, including computer applications; videodisc, tape, interactive and non-interactive formats; other visual media such as slide/tape, film and overhead transparencies; audio; simulation, role-playing and games; print based and programmed instruction. Emerging technologies and current issues in training and development are also investigated.
